Acupuncture Integral is the practice of Dr. Maximilian Erdely and Dr. Ren Ashtara. We have been practicing acupuncture for over 40 years, and have been serving the community of Northern New Mexico since 1974. Our practice is defined by an integration of traditional "5 element" acupuncture, dietary counseling, herbal medicine, and bodywork/spinal manipulations.
Our traditional raw herbs pharmacy is one of the few remaining in Santa Fe, as most Doctors of Oriental Medicine use tinctures, granules, and patents. We do provide herbal patents to patients who do not wish to cook their own herbal formulas. Our herb pharmacy consists of the highest quality organic lab tested Chinese herbs as well as herbs that we harvest from our sustainable gardens in the Amazon jungle.
A typical treatment at Acupuncture Integral consists of balancing the pulses, which is called the root treatment, then we add specific acupuncture point combinations to treat presenting symptoms, which is called the branch treatment.

For a majority of my adult life I have been affected by periodic back issues.
At times these episodes were severe and could last up to several weeks both significantly impacting my personal and work life.
I was referred to Dr. Erdely a number of years ago and see him on a regular basis.
Since I began treatment with Maky I no longer experience severe back issues, in fact I rarely have any issues at all.
Ren is an incredibly perceptive, sensitive and and knowledgeable practitioner of both acupuncture and therapeutic body work.
