RareBird Acupuncture
Oriental Medicine is a refined medical system, which has been used for more than 2000 years to diagnose and treat illness, prevent disease and improve well-being. It is effective for physical, psychological and emotional problems. Healing unfolds in many stages. Though each stage we undergo a movement within us to meet the stage and travel through it.

Oriental medicine masters the art of addressing the matrix of healing. Each stage is met independently of the other, and treatment is administered according to how each stage manifests in an individual's body system. A true statement is that the body system of two separate individuals will not manifest disease in the same way. With this sophisticated medicine we can treat each person uniquely and independently.

This is why Chinese Medicine can treat such a wide range of illnesses. So as you can see we are all Rare Birds, similar to each other in physiology, but not in expression. As a Doctor of Oriental Medicine my goal is that you maintain good health so that your body doesn't fall into disharmony, but instead remains in a state of homeostasis and vitality.

Acupuncture is one of Oriental Medicine's most important treatment modalities.
While Western science has recently determined that human beings are complex bioelectric systems, this understanding has been the foundation of Acupuncture practice for thousands of years.
Energy circulates throughout the body along well-defined pathways.
Points on the skin along these pathways are energetically connected to specific organs, body structures and functional systems.
If this energy circulation is disrupted, optimal function is affected, resulting in pain or illness.
An equally important but lesser known modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine is Chinese Herbal Medicine, which differs from Western herbology.
The origins of Chinese herbal medicine in China can be traced back at least 5,000 years, making it one of the oldest health care systems in the world.
The practice of Chinese herbal medicine has become a natural and holistic system of primary health care.
Chinese herbal medicine takes a holistic approach to understanding normal function and disease processes and focuses as much on the prevention of illness as on the treatment.
Pediatrics is a practical extension of common Chinese medicine concepts that are applied to children.
At the same time, it is a distinct speciality within Chinese medicine because children present a different energetic framework than adults.
These differences are apparent in all aspects, from energetic anatomy and physiology through assessment, acupuncture points and treatment.
A firm understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory and practice is necessary to offer clear guidelines for assessment and treatment.
Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments promote the circulation of Qi and Blood in the face.
Increased blood circulation to the face moistens the skin and promotes collagen production for increased muscle tone and elasticity.
From a Western medicine perspective, it is thought that the needling creates production of more collagen and elastin in the face, while encouraging the regeneration of skin cells.
Cosmetic acupuncture is also effective for acne and other skin conditions.
I combine constitutional acupuncture with cosmetic acupuncture.
