In the middle of the current opioid crisis, it's no wonder acupuncture has become more popular than ever as an opioid alternative in the US. As a matter of fact, this ancient form of Chinese medicine has historically been used for pain management for centuries. Fun fact - acupuncture is even supported by Medicaid and the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

But that's not all. Acupuncture is also a practical alternative for those who think that modern medicine is falling short. New patients should fill out their paperwork online prior to their appointment. If you are unable to do so, plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow time to complete your initial paperwork.

Robert began studying acupuncture and Chinese medicine in 1999.
After graduating in 2003, he has maintained a busy acupuncture practice specializing in pain management.
He was among the first acupuncturists to be licensed by the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure.
Robert is also Nationally Board Certified in Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
He has earned two master degrees, a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and a Master of Library and Information Science with a focus on research and archival work.
There are many styles of acupuncture being practiced in the United States.
The system practiced in this clinic is usually able to bring results within seconds.
Robert N. Fueston, L.Ac. has been treating patients with acupuncture for more than 15 years.
3. Length of training an acupuncturist has undergone.
For example, in some states Chiropractors are required to take only a 200 hour training program in order to practice acupuncture and in many states very little or no training is required for Allopathic Medical Doctors (M.D.'s).
Acupuncture is the insertion of a single or multiple needles into the body to elicit a specific effect.
The desired effect and the location of the problem will determine the number and location of needle placement in the body.
Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine have used this noninvasive medical system to diagnose and help millions of people get well and stay healthy.
An acupuncturist will place fine, sterile needles at specific acupoints on the body.
This activates the body's Qi (pronounced "chee") and promoted natural healing by enhancing recuperative power, immunity and physical and emotional health.
In my Lexington KY Clinic, I stock around 150 bulk herbs and a variety of prepared Chinese medicinals including pills, tablets, cough syrups, throat sprays, nose drops, burn ointments, herbal soaps, plasters, liniments, etc in my Chinese medical pharmacy.
In the rare event that I do not carry something I feel you should have or that you want, I can special order it and usually receive it in a few days.
I favor the traditional form of writing bulk herbal formula prescriptions for maximum therapeutic effect, customization of the formula to the individual, and the overall lower cost to the patient.
