Acupuncture has been found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions, both acute and chronic. Some of the more common conditions that acupuncture is sought out for are women's health issues (including fertility and pregnancy), pain, injuries, stress, emotional well being, and strengthening the immune system.

Here is a more complete list of what can be treated. Traditional Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive system based on thousands of years of knowledge of the human body and mind. It is accepted around the globe as a safe, effective and holistic complement or alternative to contemporary western medicine.
Services
Laura is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist.
She is board certified by the National Certification for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
She earned a 4-year Master's of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California, where she completed over 3,500 hours of training in both Eastern and Western medicine.
Her experience includes a prestigious 2 year postgraduate clinical apprenticeship under Dr. Holly Guzman, Doctor of Oriental Medicine.
Acupuncture has been used for over 3,000 years in China to treat a wide spectrum of injuries and illnesses.
Acupuncture efficacy has not yet been studied for all conditions.
Acupuncture's safety and low cost make it a reasonable option for most conditions even when efficacy has not yet been researched through clinical trials.
Acupuncture can also be performed even when a standard modern medical diagnosis is unkown or has not yet been established.
However, a prior diagnosis is preferred to identify conditions which may require additional treatment beyond acupuncture.
Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing (pant legs that can go up over your knees and sleeves that can be pulled up over your elbows).
In the first 15 minutes I will follow up on the information on your intake form and ask questions about your health.
These questions, along with your answers, assist me to arrive at a Traditional Chinese Medical diagnosis on which your treatment will be based.
After the initial interview you will be asked to lie down.
Approximately 4-10 acupuncture points will be cleaned with alcohol and I will then insert very thin, sterile, disposable needles.
