Through the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as modern methods of alternative treatments, I combine a 3,000 year old tradition with a modern approach to healthcare. As each person is different, so too is their ailment, which is why I tailor each treatment to the individual's needs. This allows true and lasting healing from the core. To learn more about who I am and how I might be able to help you please visit the upper "About" tab.

Having evolved over 3500 years, acupuncture is one of the oldest continually practiced medical modalities in the world. It is a safe, effective way to regulate the body's energy system, known as Qi, and harmonize Yin and Yang. Unlike Western medicine, which focuses on the symptom, Chinese Medicine treats the root cause defined by the constitution of each client.

TCM combines acupuncture, herbs and other manual therapies together to bring a full spectrum of healing approaches to each session.
Services
Acupuncture uses hair-thin, flexible needles, inserted into specific points on the bodyactivate the body's own healing energy, called "Qi." Acupuncture also effects the balance of Yin and Yang, when the body is not in harmony with itself.
Available currently at Oceanpoint Acupuncture are patent chinese pills.
We will also be adding herbal powders to our inventory soon.
These are refined raw herbs in a powdered form that are stronger and taken with warm water.
Tuia Na massage is a form of massage that focuses on the effected acupuncture channels in the body.

When you come in for your first visit it will be unlike many typical doctor's visits.
This is because in Chinese Medicine we like to get as much information about you as possible.
This includes sleep habits, emotions and even tastes you might prefer.
Some information may not seem important, but it tells us a lot about you.
So, please be as specific as possible when answering questions.
The more information we gather the better your treatment and the more specifically tailored to you as an individual.
It has long been considered the medicine of the layman, because it treats the individual, not only the ailment.
TCM takes a "root" and "branch" approach to health, in that true healing cannot take place until both the root of the disharmony and the branch are treated simultaneously.
These concepts are taken from the Taoist philosophy that harmony and balance are elemental to the natural order of life and thus, health.
This concept was taken from the natural world around us, that every living being lives and dies by.
We use very fine needles, many the width of a hair.
You may feel a small pinch when first inserted, or a dull ache as "Da qi" is aquired.
Others experience a feeling of a small electrical current or warmth, but it is not painful or unpleasant.
Because each person and each disharmony is different there is no way of being sure.
If a disharmony is acute and not too severe it may take only one to three treatments.
If a disharmony is chronic it may take up to 12 treatments.
Although you may not see immediate improvements to your condition you will most likely experience some degree of relaxation after only one treatment, regardless of your malady.
