Traditional Chinese Medicine is the longest continually practiced health care system in the world, incorporating acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine, diet therapy, and exercise (tai ji and qi gong).
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete health care system capable of delivering both primary and specialized care.
It's based on principles that began evolving four to six thousand years ago and that continue to evolve.
In particular, Traditional Chinese Medicine embraces the view that the elements, forces, and principles in all of nature also exist in human beings.
Over the centuries, Traditional Chinese Medicine has mapped out subtle networks throughout the body.
When these networks get blocked or depleted, disease occurs.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has also identified points along these pathways that control certain actions in the body.
The ancient Chinese found that stimulating these points caused a cascade of positive changes.
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting fine needles in these precise locations.
By doing this, we can unblock the pathways, helping energy and blood to flow smoothly again and directly affecting the body's capacity to heal.
