After graduating from Lewis and Clark College in 2000 with a degree in Psychology, I spent the following 15 years providing strategic disease management tactics to pharmaceutical companies. Frustrated by the gaps in the U.S. health care system, I completed my graduate studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University in Santa Cruz and then received my L.Ac. (License as an Acupuncturist) in 2014.
My personal healing path led me to acupuncture through two complicated autoimmune health crises. As a high school varsity athlete in a battle with Lyme Disease, I discovered that the body/mind/spirit connection is crucial to promoting sustainable holistic health. Two decades later, I had a extremely difficult pregnancy with severe autoimmune complications during one of the most stressful times in my life.
Despite the odds (90% chance of disease recurrence during future pregnancy), I applied my integrated knowledge of health care, nutrition, stress reduction, and spiritual mindfulness to have a very healthy second pregnancy.
