Renew You Acupuncture
At Renew You Acupuncture it is my mission to help your body restore itself to a healthy balance through the integration of ancient Chinese medicine and modern biomedicine. I will work with you to develop an individualized holistic treatment plan that addresses your body's unique needs and ultimately improves your quality of life. Acupuncture is the strategic placement of ultra-thin needles into acupoints on the body that correspond to the patient's condition.

The goal is to renew the healthy flow of qi and restore the body to balance. You might be asking "what is qi" (pronouced 'chee')? Qi or life energy is one of the foundations of Oriental medicine and is found in all living things. Qi flows through the body in meridians which are related to hundreds of points on the skin. Pain or illness results when there is a blockage in the meridian and the flow of qi is disrupted.

Once placed at particular acupoints, the job of the needles is to release that blockage. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), almost 40% of American adults use alternative forms of medicine.

Facial Rejuvenation or Cosmetic Acupuncture has quickly become recognized as a safe, natural, effective, non-drug and non-surgical alternative to many anti-aging procedures.
The desire to look and feel younger is definitely not just a modern concept.
In fact, the first evidence of Chinese healers developing modalities and diets to combat aging can be traced to 1121 B.C.E.
Through the use of ultra-thin needles, acupuncture is able to stimulate the body's own natural healing mechanism.
It allows for an increase in blood flow to the face bringing nutrients, which increases healthy cell production and also helps the body break down and eliminate damaged cells and toxins.
This is an ancient form of medicine that has been used for over 2,000 years along with many other forms of East Asian medicine.
A Master's degree in Oriental medicine is a four-year graduate program.
Included in this 4 year program are 191.5 units and 3,510 credit hours of theory and clinical practice.
Acupuncture students take many courses in both Western Biomedicine (Anatomy, Physiology, Physical Exam, Nutrition etc.) and Eastern medicine (Points, Herbology, Needle technique, Diagnosis and Treatment of disease etc.).
