Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine
Our passion is to help you attain the highest level of health and vitality possible. We do this by using Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine and Functional Medicine to activate your body's own healing mechanisms to rebalance and restore health naturally, preemptively correcting imbalances before disease has the chance to set in. We look not only at the presenting symptoms but also at the root causes.

This means, we look at the whole person - your physical, mental and emotional body and try to understand how the influences and stresses of life have affected you. We bring the best of our skills, training and knowledge to every encounter. But we also empower you to be proactive in managing your health - you have an enormous amount of healing power.

As a team, we will see a real transformation take place. Viral infections: Influenza, H1N1, Frequent Colds, Bronchitis, Herpes, Shingles, Hepatitis. David Scrimgeour believes in going to the root. He works to harmonize the components of each individual person so that the vital energy of the body, the qi, is able to flow without impediment.

I was referred to David by a friend who conceived while seeing him for fertility issues.
I wanted to find someone with a good track record to work with and David has had years of successful experience.
We were so happy to conceive and were overjoyed with the birth of our daughter!
For many years, working with clients on fertility has been a mainstay of David's practice.
He finds that the patterns of excess or deficiency present themselves over and over in these cases.
Chinese Medicine has been treating the complexities of infertility for over 2,500 years.
David has been working with cancer patients for 30 years and is fully versed in the alternative and functional therapies for cancer, so he can be a true advocate to help a person know what really works and what doesn't.
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can also be effective at reducing side effects of cancer treatments.
Once the necessary treatments are completed, David's goals are to restore the patient's health and vitality, identify the underlying imbalances that led to cancer in the first place, and most importantly, to strengthen the immune system to prevent a recurrence.
Immune disorders often show up in two ways.
First, there is a deficiency pattern where the immune system is weak and fails to protect the body against viruses, bacteria and internal pathogens.
A typical example is a person who tends to get every cold or virus that goes around.
They just get over one cold and quickly catch another.
Worse still, every cold turns into bronchitis or pneumonia and seems to drag on for weeks or even months.
Chinese medicine offers the best treatment protocol for strengthening the immune system in a person through the use of tonifying herbs and acupuncture which stimulates the body to come back into balance.
David Scrimgeour believes in going to the root.
He works to harmonize the components of each individual person so that the vital energy of the body, the qi, is able to flow without impediment.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has a long history of addressing the fundamental cause of illness, working to restore a natural state of balance and optimizing the level of overall health in the individual.
Rather than feeling suppressed or sedated, David finds that with this type of medicine one often is able to awaken the parts of the self that want to heal.
