Services
Question: What should I expect when I see you for treatment?
Answer:I usually schedule patients for 1 hour, though some patients may need more time.
Depending on your needs, this hour often includes a consultation, evaluation, acupuncture treatment and herbal prescription.
Question: What does the consultation entail?
Answer: I will spend time talking to you to determine your medical history and evaluate your current condition.
This usually takes 20 to 30 minutes on the first visit and 10-15 minutes in subsequent visits.
Thank you for making an appointment to see Daniel Altschuler for acupuncture and Chinese medical treatment.
What to wear: Please wear loose fitting clothing that can be rolled up or down.
Sweat pants, skirts, tank tops, short pants, etc. are the most convenient.
Feel free to bring such clothes with you and change when you get to my clinic.
Some of my patients wear gym shorts under their clothes.
Mostly I use acupuncture points on the lower legs and forearms.
But depending on your condition, other points on the back, torso, head, etc. may be important.
Dr. Altschuler accepts the following acupuncture insurance plans: Premera, Lifewise, Aetna, Cigna, Uniform, Regence, Healthways, First Choice, Providence, Kaiser PPO, and all PIP claims (Auto accidents).
If your insurance company is not listed, please call me or your insurance company to see if you are eligible.
I am not covered under Kaiser HMO.
For those not covered under these plans, Daniel is able to provide a receipt of services or a Superbill which the patient can submit to his or her own insurance company.
Through education and encouragement a patient can make better choices in doctors, treatment options and self care.
A diagnosis of cancer is a traumatic experience.
It takes time to process the mental and emotional turmoil.
Yet, before this internal tornado has a chance to dissipate, you often must make quick decisions regarding your course of treatment.
Sometimes the patient is given options; sometimes the oncologist strongly dictates only one.
Very few people diagnosed with cancer have previously spent time thinking or researching cancer or its treatment options.
This is the eighth year Daniel Altschuler will be taking a small group of Chinese medicine practitioners and students to study herbal medicine.
Observation and instruction will be with Dr. Altschuler's teacher, Dr. Lee Chen-Yr, one of Taiwan's most renown Chinese medicine physicians and his student Daniel Altschuler.
Daniel, a long time resident of Taipei and Chinese medicine practitioner and teacher, will also be the guide and translator for the trip.
There will be plenty of free time for exploring the city and shopping, and we have planned time for taking short trips in and outside the city to enjoy tea culture, historic sites, temples, and of course, the night market and fabulous food of Taiwan.
