Hello, my name is Christina Prieto. We are licensed acupuncturist providing the residents of Orlando and Winter Park with gentle and personalized acupuncture treatment for pain and many other ailments. We also now offer Telemedicine sessions to Florida residents. We'd like to welcome you to our web site where you will find a great deal of information on Acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) or what is also known as Complimentary Alternative Medicine (CAM.)
I've prepared this information so you can learn how to benefit from a natural and effective form of health care that has been around for more than 2,500 years. Growing numbers have sought out acupuncturists for chronic pain and health problems when conventional medicine either hasn't worked nor has answers. The NIH and World Health Organization have both given formal approval of certain uses of acupuncture.
Medical doctors refer their patients to acupuncturists more than any other "alternative" care provider. To learn more about Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, get my FREE Report titled: "The Truth About Acupuncture; The Ground Breaking Study That Proved Skeptics WRONG".

Chronic pain, whether from a pinched nerve, sciatica, arthritis or other conditions can be very frustrating for the sufferer.
It is often difficult to treat nerve pain with traditional medications as nerve pain does not respond well to prescription pain relievers, including narcotics.
If you suffer from chronic pain and you are unable to find relief, you may find help by using alternative medicine treatments.
Back pain, whether caused by chronic sciatica, a bulging disc, or arthritis is very painful and can be disabling.

In addition to acupuncture and herbology, cupping therapy has been part of Chinese medicine for over 2,500 years.
But it's become hugely popular after Michael Phelps was shown with the typical cup marks on his body during the Rio Olympics.
Originally, animal horn was used for cupping, later on brass, ceramic, and bamboo cups were used.
Today, we use glass cups in a variety of different sizes.
Cupping is like a very deep tissue massage.
The practitioner applies heat in a cup and then applies that cup to the body, most commonly on the back.

Looking for an acupuncturist may be a daunting experience for some people, but it doesn't have to be if you know what to look for.
The best way to find a good acupuncturist is to ask your friends and family for the name of a practitioner they've had a good experience with.
But if that's not possible here are 5 important points to remember when interviewing an acupuncturist for the first time.
Make sure your acupuncturist attended a nationally accredited school.
In states with strict licensing laws (Florida is one of them), acupuncturists must have completed four years of training and passed rigorous national and state board exams.

Headaches are one of the most frequently occurring ailments, even more so than the common cold.
There are many different causes for this type of pain including stress and tension, food and environmental allergies, sinus inflammation, low blood sugar, hormonal imbalance, high blood pressure, constipation, aspartame, and caffeine, among others.
According to Chinese theory, a headache can be the result of an invasion of external pathogens (wind, heat, dampness), internal disruptions (excesses, deficiencies, stagnation), or blockages in any of the 7 meridians that meet in the head.
