Acupuncture regulates emotions, boosts energy and improves adrenal function to help you better respond to every day stress. Acupuncture influences hormones and improves blood circulation thereby allowing the body to rebalance itself so conception can occur naturally or improve IVF success rates. Acupuncture reduces cravings, alleviates irritability, anxiety and other complaints commonly associated with recent smoking cessation and other conditions.

Acupuncture is a system of complementary medicine that involves pricking the skin or tissues with needles, used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical and emotional conditions. Originating in ancient China, acupuncture is now widely practiced in the West. In 1997, the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) documented and publicized acupuncture's safety and efficacy for treating a wide range of conditions.

Acupuncture improves the body's functions and promotes the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites--commonly referred to as acupuncture points, or acupoints.
Services
In addition to being a Licensed Acupuncturist I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
Acupuncture can be an emotional experience as we all hold stress somewhere in our bodies.
For many it's in the shoulders which leads to stiff neck and aches and pains.
For others it's in the abdomen, giving rise to digestive complaints.
When the affected area is "released" of its constriction through acupuncture it can involve a "letting go" not only of the physical complaint but also of the emotions attached to it.
A little gem at the end of the street.
Conveniently located a 2 minute drive from exit 3 off I-95 and a 5-6 minute walk from the Greenwich train station.
There is ample parking in the lot just past the building.
When performed by a skilled practitioner it should not hurt.
One may have a brief sensation like a mosquito bite - a quick pinch and then it's gone.
During the treatment, where needles are placed the area can feel warm or tingly which are indications of the presence of "Qi".
A typical treatment will consist of 10-15 needles.
The Greenwich Acupuncture Clinic is proud to offer "Cold" Laser treatments to our patients.
This revolutionary new treatment utilizes photons of light to augment the body's natural healing abilities.
The laser is different from what most of us picture as a laser.
It falls under the category of a "low level laser" and emits non-visible light that has no heating or cutting properties.
Treatment is completely painless and provides true healing power.
All light has some penetration properties but most wavelengths of light are absorbed by the outer layers of skin, creating heat and often damaging tissue (much like a bad sunburn).
It is becoming more common for Reproductive Endocrinologists to offer acupuncture to patients for stress relief, but it is in conjunction with some form of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
It has been proven that acupuncture works for stress relief, but for many women that may be all they need in order for conception to occur naturally so those doctors are not giving acupuncture the chance to work its magic!
Acupuncture in addition to regulating emotions, can effectively correct menstrual and ovulatory irregularities, lower Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), improve sperm/egg quality, treat Polycystic Ovaries (PCOS), improve blood flow though the uterine artery, increase uterine lining among other gynecological conditions including alleviation of painful periods and symptoms associated with menopause.
The "NADA" Protocol as it is called, can help you stop smoking and using other substances as well as improve emotional conditions.
The protocol was originally developed to address symptoms associated with withdrawal from substances, namely cravings, but has now been generalized to address anxiety, sleep disorders, ADD/ADHD and PTSD among other disorders.
In 2005 I trained with Michael O. Smith, MD, pioneer of the NADA protocol and became certified as an acu-detox professional.
Once registered as NADA participants, clients are able to "drop in" any time between the established hours, receive NADA protocol treatment and stay as long as they wish within the drop in times, on average 30-45 minutes.
