Princeton Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine
We care about your healing and continued growth. At Princeton Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine we provide you with specific, time tested and clinically proven strategies and options that will help put you on the path to optimal health and wellness. Ancient techniques allow us to formulate a diagnosis that will address your symptoms AND the root of your problem.

Documented and explained in an understandable fashion so that you are confident in your treatment. I had my first acupuncture wellness treatment about a month ago for the first time. When I arrived I wasn't sure what to expect, but Steve asked the right questions and made me feel confident in his ability from the start. I was born with a curvature of the spine (scoliosis) which did not cause me much trouble until I reached my late forties.

At that juncture I began to experience considerable pain and I noticed, as well, that my lower back was becoming far more crooked and deformed. I had tried acupuncture in the past for arthritis with some relief.
Services
Our goal at Princeton Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is to help you achieve and maintain a state of optimal health so you can pursue your goals to lead a truly fulfilling life.
There is a big difference between optimal health and lack of symptoms.
Optimal health is not simply the absence of disease and dysfunction, but the ability to perform optimally.
Performing optimally is simply impossible if you are dealing with symptoms (or signals from your body that something is wrong).
It is very difficult to live your life in a content and fulfilled manner when you are suffering with insomnia, headaches, fatigue, indigestion, pain, depression/anxiety or most any other health complaint.
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is a holistic healing art so it is somewhat incongruous to "specialize" in any one area of treatment when even something like a simple headache can stem from a multitude of physical, nutritional, environmental and emotional factors.
That being said, we have outlined below how some common ailments that we have had tremendous success in treating.
A brief description of how these conditions can be improved with acupuncture has been provided along with some proven remedies that you can incorporate in to your every day life to get relief.
Western medicine, while peerless at dealing with acute, life threatening problems, primarily deals with the disease end of the spectrum (only about 1% of all health complaints).
If you have a chronic problem, or something that is outside of Western medicines ability to diagnose you typically have two options, medication or surgery.
Additionally, the medication or surgery may or may not help (and can sometimes make things worse).
Its almost as if Western medicine is saying "come back when you have a really serious problem."
Before we get started, just a few words about what you should do when coming to our clinic.
Dress in comfortable clothes, loose fitting pants or sweatpants that allow easy access to your lower extremities.
If you are coming in for low back pain we will need to access your lower back and hips (running shorts are great for this).
Sports bras for women are unnecessary (and even get in the way if we need to access your back).
You should make sure you have something to eat within a few hours of coming to the clinic.
As one of the main branches of Chinese medicine, Chinese herbs have also been used for thousands of years by billions of people to help in the healing of physical and mental disorders.
This is a record for safety and efficacy that dwarfs anything western medicine has to offer.
Many people find herbs to be an attractive treatment option because, if they are used skillfully, they are generally free of side effects.
Herbal medicine supports and enhances one's overall health.
A Chinese herbalist is more interested in strengthening the foundation of one's health rather than offering symptomatic band-aids.
