Originally trained in allopathic medicine, Carol worked many years in adult clinical care as a nurse practitioner. She sought a deeper understanding of health and illness by studying mind-body touch therapies with internationally known teachers. She is certified in Process Acupressure, Zero Balancing, Acupuncture Detoxification, and has completed the Advanced Training in CranioSacral Therapy with Dr. John Upledger.

A year or two later she received her certification as an animal acupuncturist. Her animal practice focuses on dog acupuncture. In her practice, Carol offers a unique integration of Five Element Acupuncture with healing touch therapies. A life-long learner, she brings a serene presence and grace to the treatment room and offers patients compassionate listening and hope.

With her abiding interest in spiritual growth, Carol's work has helped many open to their full potential for health and inner balance. For the recent six years, Carol has studied many weekends in NYC under Jeffrey Yuen, an internationally recognized master of Chinese Medicine and a Daoist Priest.
Services
After a year of low back aches and pains, three rounds of physical therapy and daily exercise, I met Carol Burke.
One acupuncture session and the persistent pain disappeared and has stayed away.
Now I see Carol for regular bodywork including zero balancing.
My energy level is better than when I was bothered by the back aches and I feel very well.
While driving my car after my first treatment by Carol I realized I was seeing the world in color again.
Since then it's been a healing experience every time I've seen Carol.
A Zero Balancing (ZB) session brings internal balance and harmony through the use of skilled touch.
During the session, the client is fully clothed, lying on a body work table, while gentle acupressure is applied to the joints and bones.
When the skeletal system (spine, shoulders, hips, feet) are relaxed, a strong unified energy flow comes through the body.
The focus of ZB is to bring the relationship of energy and structure into greater balance.
For optimum health the energy and physical body must function in alignment.
CranioSacral Therapy, a gentle, clothes-on, touch therapy, utilizes the body's own natural healing abilities to enhance well being and improve resistance to disease.
By lightly palpating points within the craniosacral system (the bones of the skull, face and sacrum, along with their connective membranes and cerebrospinal fluid), restrictions in the motion of the system can be detected and corrected and the body's natural balance restored.
A CranioSacral Therapy session can last from 15 minutes to more than an hour, and it can be used alone or in conjunction with other therapeutic modalities.
For thousands of years, the therapeutic use of essential oils of aromatic plants has been utilized for the maintenance and restoration of health.
Essential oils were anointed for their scent and ability to support healing of body, mind and spirit.
Depending on your symptom and clinical presentation, I may offer essential oils as part of your treatment plan.
I create custom blends to meet your individual health needs.
The essential oils are of the highest quality and usually organic.
The blend is designed to strengthen the body's constitution, eliminate toxins and remove energetic blockages.
Process Acupressure (PA) is a body/mind/soul modality that works with the whole person to further health, well-being and soul-centered development.
It is based on the idea that the body, mind and soul are fundamentally linked-and that the state of one has an effect on the state of the others.
The Chinese mapped out energy pathways (meridians) throughout the body around 3,000 years ago.
Similarly, the ancient Indians defined the energy centers (chakras) of the body.
Process Acupressure uses this ancient knowledge combined with contemporary psychospiritual understanding, to promote health and self-responsibility.
