This saying holds so much truth in regards to our health and acupuncture.
It is all too easy to get caught up in the go go go pace of life, frantically trying to get everything done in a day only to push our health and well being to the bottom of the list.
Who has time to stretch anyway?
Over time this mistreatment of the body builds up and one day you wake up sore and achy, stiff and slightly slower than the day before.
You are stuck.
Not only are you stuck physically with pain or fatigue, but mentally you don't think as clearly as you once did, your memory is not so sharp and it's harder to complete tasks that were once easy.
People ask; "Why Acupuncture?"
My goal as a health care practitioner is to facilitate health and wellbeing for my patients physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I advocate health through education of the body and by bridging the gap between the Eastern and Western medical perspectives.
I always knew that I was meant to help others and it is with deep gratitude that I have found the healing arts of Chinese and Japanese medicine.
At River City Wellness & Acupuncture, the goal is to make core changes within the body.
For optimum health, balancing every aspect of your being is essential.
From an Oriental medicine perspective, the foods you eat, the amount of exercise you get, and your mental outlook all contribute to your overall health.
Together we will discuss achievable ways that you can break old or damaging habits and restore health and wellbeing.
Becoming aware of any mental or physical habits that could be harmful to you and baby steps to breaking those cycles.
Recommendations to qualified complimentary practitioners to assist in your healing may be offered.
While Shiatsu and Tuina are offered at River City Wellness, they are done so as part of an acupuncture treatment.
This therapy is generally provided after the acupuncture session and typically lasts for 5-10 minutes.
They are not offered as stand alone therapies.
Shiatsu, a massage technique of Japanese origin, is a physical therapy that supports the body's natural ability to heal.
The theory is closely related to acupuncture and is an effective complement to an acupuncture treatment.
The therapy is carried out through touch with gentle pressure along the meridians of the body.
By now most of you have heard of acupuncture or at least know someone who has received a treatment.
While acupuncture popularity is growing, most know little about how it works or what to expect at a treatment.
Overall the experience of getting acupuncture at River City Wellness should be calming and restorative.
The treatment rooms are welcoming and the environment is peaceful.
This treatment usually lasts 90 minutes and we begin with a thorough health history covering your main complaint(s) and the overall functioning of your body.
