Acupuncture works with the body's bioelectric energy, "qi" (chee). Qi flows in well-defined pathways throughout the body. Acupuncture points are places where this energy flow is easily accessible. When the flow of energy is blocked or disrupted, pain, discomfort and illness can appear. Your acupuncturist identifies where the energy flow is disrupted and through the use of specifically chosen acupuncture points encourages the body towards smooth and balanced energy flow.
