It is based on the idea that Qi (vital energy) flows through the body and regulates health and well-being.
By correcting energetic imbalances resulting from internal and external causes, the body can be restored to health.
TCM understands that states of health and disease are unique to each person, and thus uses an individual approach to treating each individual and each disease.

Cathy Thomason, MAOM, DiplAc, DiplCH, graduated in 2003 from the master's degree program of the New England School of Acupuncture.
She is certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (signified with DiplAc and DiplCH).
Cathy has completed advanced herbal training with Dr. Tao Xie, and studied advanced needle technique with Dr. Cheng Xiao Ming.
She became interested in studying acupuncture while living in South Korea, where acupuncture enjoys equal status with Western medicine.
