Acupuncture is an ancient system of holistic medicine that treats the underlying causes of disharmony, and additionally treats the symptomatic relief of complaints. It has been used for many thousands of years to treat illness, prevent disease, and improve well being on all levels -- physical, mental, and emotional. Disease is viewed as an imbalance or blockage in the body's natural energy flow.
Acupuncture corrects these energetic imbalances by breaking up any obstruction, and encouraging an even flow of energy or "Qi" through the stimulation of specific acupuncture points by thin, disposable needles. Energy can be disturbed by trauma, poor diet, medications, stress, hereditary conditions, environmental factors, or excessive emotional issues.
Your practitioner will diagnose your condition with an examination which will include a medical history, pulse and tongue diagnosis, and body palpation.

Soak spices in half of the water for at least one hour, or overnight.
Simmer covered for 60 minutes.
Cool and strain, set aside.
Add the second half of the water to the spices and simmer for a minimum of two hours.
Mix with the first batch.
Add milk and reheat to the boiling point.
It is important to boil the milk.
This changes the "energetic" of the milk and infuses the flavor of the spices.
Note: Milk can be added on a cup-by-cup basis while the tea is stored in the refrigerator.
The reason for the two part cooking is to bring out different qualities of the spices.
