Services
As a young girl, Dr. Goguen's interest in health and healing began after struggling with her own poor digestion.
She became fascinated with why we get sick, how the disease process happens, and why experiences can be so different from one person to the next.
She fell in love with Oriental Medicine because it encourages patients to take a proactive stance in the maintenance of their health rather than seek a temporary solution as ailments arise.
Each individual's unique symptoms are very important in diagnosis and treatment is tailored to that individual rather than what works for most people.
Holly Goguen's clinic specializes in Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which has been practiced in varying forms for over 2,000 years.
Based in Redondo Beach, it provides quality Traditional Chinese medicine treatments to clients residing in the South Bay area.
This system of medicine uses a combination of theories that view the world as an interconnected whole in a constant state of change and transformation.
Seasons, weather, lifestyle, diet, constitution, and emotions all play an important role in the health of the individual living in that world.
Located in Redondo Beach, our clinic serves the South Bay communities to provide Traditional Chinese Medicine in a comfortable, professional and spa-like setting.
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide variety of conditions, such as pain, headaches, insomnia, stress and anxiety, women's issues, and many more.
Below you will find some basic information on Acupuncture and what to expect, but please visit our FAQ for answers to many common questions not answered here.
Acupuncture originated in China more than 5,000 years ago and is one of the primary forms of treatment in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In moxibustion, Chinese Mugwort (moxa) is rolled into sticks or cones and is burned and held close to the skin to stimulate acupuncture points and warm regions of the body with heat.
This increases circulation and warms the tissues, improving blood flow.
Smokeless moxa only is used in our clinic to accommodate those patients who may be sensitive to the smell of smoke associated with burning conventional moxa.
The sensation of moxibustion is warming and pleasant and may be added to your treatment for a variety of conditions, including cold limbs, poor circulation, weakness, fatigue and fertility issues.
Diminish Pain and Tension with Cupping Therapy and Gua Sha in South Bay and Redondo Beach.
In addition to acupuncture, our South Bay clinic has a number of additional bodywork and Traditional Chinese Medicine therapies, such as cupping and gua sha, that can be added to your treatment.
Most of our patients use these treatments to address chronic neck and back pain, to speed up illness recovery from colds and flus, to relieve myofascial tension from vigorous workouts, or to improve blood and fluid circulation in areas of tightness.
