Licensed Acupuncturist Sarah Frances Butler Fan is NCCAOM certified in herbal medicine as well as acupuncture and provides diet, exercise and lifestyle advice, as appropriate within the context of the acupuncture session. Acupuncture is becoming increasingly recognized as a great method of preventative care and a complement to Allopathic (Western) medicine.
Frances often has doctors refer patients to acupuncture for headaches, pain, sports injuries, stress or anxiety and digestive disorders as well as other complaints. She also enjoys working alongside Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists and Chiropractors to ensure her patients progress as fast as possible in recovery. Because acupuncture has its roots in traditional East Asian medicine, it can provide a unique way of looking at stubborn conditions that may not have responded well to other therapies in the past.
O.M is amazing! I have always avoided acupuncture for health because of the needles. I hate getting shots! However, a severe foot injury and massive nerve damage had left me feeling let down by established American Medicine.

But why should we use it now?
With all the new medical technology and discoveries out there, what makes acupuncture and Oriental medicine a good choice for health care?
What do I mean by holistic?
Holistic means that East Asian medicine treats a person as a whole, and believes that the health of the body, mind and emotions are all linked together.
It is not possible to separate them and achieve good clinical results.
