Lixin Acupuncture Clinic
Lixin Acupuncture Clinics were founded to bring quality acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to the American public. Each clinician has been trained in the Traditional Chinese Medical system, brought by Dr. Lixin Zhang from China and his family tradition. By Chinese tradition, Li Xin began his medical training at the age of nine, as he is the tenth generation heir to his family's medical lineage.

He graduated at the top of his class at Heilongjiang Medical School and eventually became the Chief Doctor of the Acupuncture Department at Beijing's acclaimed Red Cross Hospital. There he administered inpatient and outpatient care throughout the 1,000-bed hospital, acted as a senior supervisor, and participated in the training and overseeing of hundreds of medical doctors in acupuncture.

Through the 1990's a number of Dr. Zhang's medical research studies were published, and in 1993 he was appointed as chief consultant to the Chinese Family Doctors Association. Distinguished in his field for miraculous treatment results, Dr. Zhang was also featured in both the Chinese national press and television as "Acupuncture of Gods".

Cupping is one of the oldest modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine used to expel the body of toxins.
An accumulation of toxins and waste can stagnate in the muscles due to poor circulation, blockage of Qi (energy), or an injury that never fully healed.
The vacuum action of cupping releases these toxins by targeting the meridian channels-through which life energy flows freely throughout the body, and provides a smoother and more free flowing Qi.
In China, cupping is mainly used for respiratory conditions (bronchitis, asthma, congestion), arthritis, gastrointestinal disorders, and certain types of pain.
Moxibustion is an ancient Chinese Medicine technique in which dried plant materials, called "moxa" or dried mugwort, are burned near the surface of the skin in order to facilitate healing.
It aids in stimulating a sluggish, deficient, or stagnated Qi (energy) with the introduction of therapeutic heat, amplifying the effects of acupuncture therapy and alleviating chronic stagnation.
The warming properties of moxibustion invigorate the flow of Qi in the body, strengthen the blood, and maintain general health by dispelling pathogenic influences.
Once a patient is declared free of illness or dis-ease, the course of acupuncture treatment would encompass a goal of health maintenance and wellness optimization.
The purpose of maintenance acupuncture treatment is to promote continued health and prevent future symptoms or illness.
Ensuring the wellbeing of the individual is at the soul of the art of acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
The overall wellbeing of the individual consists of the strength of the "vital energy" and the body's vulnerability to stress.
Post-stroke acupuncture is a specialized branch of medicine.
It is considered a hybrid science because it is a blend of modern neurology and classical acupuncture.
Explained simply this therapy is acupuncture stimulation near the stroke damage.
In China it is the standard of post-stroke care, and over ninety percent of its hospital patients receiving acupuncture are stroke survivors.
Needles are inserted under the scalp, so there may be a sensation of pulling, tightness or pain.
After the needle insertion, a common reaction to the puncture is a heat sensation in the impaired area of the body.
