My name is Matt Anderson and I have been a practicing acupuncturist in Southern California since 1999. Many of the people I treat have never tried acupuncture before their initial visit with me. There are a lot of people interested in acupuncture, but they have fears about needles and the unknown effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I am here to bridge the gap between East and West.

I offer consultations to explain exactly how acupuncture works and what it can and cannot do. The most common question is "does acupuncture hurt?" Occasionally, a patient may feel a tiny pinch, but most times they don't even know that the needle has been inserted. The needle is thinner than the thinnest hypodermic needle. Nothing is injected into the body and it is not inserted into a patient's nerves.

Acupuncture can at times eliminate long standing painful and chronic conditions only because a patient's body was ready for the adjustment and "opening of energy." The Chinese believe that "Qi" (chee) or our energy/life force needs to be free flowing throughout all of our Meridians at all times.
Services
Chinese herbs are prescribed along with acupuncture treatments to bring health and balance to the system.
There are thousands of herbs and they are combined precisely in formulas which could have one or two herbs or twenty.
Many years of study go into diagnosing the patient and combining the exact herbal formula for their condition.
All pharmaceutical drugs are based on substances found in plants.
Chinese herbs have been used for thousands of years with great success.
All herbs and formulas that I prescribe are "GMP" rated (Good Manufacturing Process).
As a certified YMCA strength trainer since 1996, I have refined a circuit training method which increases strength, flexibility and endurance while also promoting weight loss.
This is accomplished in a manner which is safe and easy on the joints and muscles.
The circuit workout system is based on using opposite muscle groups.
In its simplest form, it requires you to push and pull.
By conditioning your muscles in this way, scientific studies have proven that individuals get stronger than those who use the same muscle groups back to back.
