I just turned 40 in October, and I am the very blessed mother of a beautiful boy, who just turned 7 months old.

My infertility journey began at the age of 37, when much to my surprise, I was hit with the dreaded high FSH diagnosis, and given little hope of ever conceiving with my own eggs or carrying to term. If you were searching the web for infertility treatment options near me, you've come tot he right place.

It is estimated worldwide that one out of every seven couples has problems conceiving, including 9 million people in the United States.
There are many causes of infertility, most of which are treatable by medical and alternative therapies.
Research shows that approximately 60% of cases are due to female infertility, and 40% are due to male infertility, although many cases are unexplained, or due to combined factors from both partners.
Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of active trying if the female is under age 35, or after six months of active trying if the female is age 35 or older.
IVF is the uniting of egg and sperm in vitro (in the lab).
Typically involving ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilization, and embryo transfer, IVF is a treatment for infertility commonly employed once other methods of assisted reproductive technologies have failed.
Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, herbs, dietary and nutritional therapy, stress reduction techniques, and reproductive organ massage, provides a safe and effective complementary therapy for IVF.
Many research articles suggest an increase in IVF success of around 50% with acupuncture alone, and the application of a more comprehensive Chinese medical program may offer even greater improvement.
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is one of two gonadotropins secreted from the pituitary gland to regulate ovarian function and follicular growth and maturation (LH or luteinizing hormone is the other).
FSH stimulates ovarian estrogen production and appears to play a critical role in the selection of a dominant follicle.
Estradiol, produced by the ovaries, sends a signal to the brain to decrease FSH production.
If insufficient estrogen is produced by the ovary, the brain doesn't receive the signal; FSH production continues, and may become elevated.
32% of all cases of infertility are attributed to Fallopian tube blockage.
Tubal blockages can prevent the egg and sperm from meeting, thus impairing fertilization, or can prevent the movement of a fertilized egg into the uterus.
It is possible to have bilateral or unilateral Fallopian tube blockage, spasms of the tubes, mucus plugs, fluid buildup (hydrosalpinx) or scar tissue in the Fallopian tubes.
Acupuncture helps to relax spasms in the tubes, as well as promote movement within the tubes allowing for enhanced fertilization and implantation.
