After ten years of serving the communities of Bellevue and Seattle, I made the decision to close both offices and take a year's sabbatical before I open a new office in Everett. Not only will I be spending time taking care of my own health and well being, I will be taking courses that have interested me, and will be bringing new passion, insight, and intuition to my practice.

I will continue to write and keep you updated on the latest that's happening here at Emerald Gate Acupuncture, so please check out my blog posts, which are updated frequently, and where you'll find more information and inspiration. You can also sign up for my newsletter to find out more about the journey I'm taking with Emerald Gate. Acupuncture is one of three branches of ancient traditional medicine.

The other two are herbal medicine and the practice of a physical and mental discipline called Qi Gong. The main objective of each branch is to bring about a harmonious flow of Chi. We all know that stress is just a part of life.
Services
Practitioners of acupuncture and East Asian medicine have used this noninvasive treatment method to help millions of people become well and stay well.
Acupuncture promotes natural healing.
It can enhance recuperative power and immunity, support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well-being.
It is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems.
At the core of this ancient medicine is the philosophy that Qi (pronounced "chee"), or vital energy, flows throughout the body.
I have worked with clients in Addiction Recovery for over 9 years, and have seen the power that Acupuncture and essential oils can have when combined with counseling, AA or equivalent meetings, and/ or patient treatment centers.
Harnessing the healing benefits of essential oils, I also offer individualized blends, specifically tailored to each person's needs as they are going through detoxification and recovery.
As you travel your path, grow and reconnect with your inner being, your oil blends will change along with you.
Acupuncture has been employed as a health care modality for over 5,000 years.
Modern science has begun to understand the secrets of this ancient medicine with the support of new studies conducted by leading scientists, hospitals and medical research facilities from all over the world.
Today, acupuncture is receiving wide acceptance as a respected, valid and effective form of health care.
In a systematic review published by Spine Journal, acupuncture has been shown to have significantly favorable effects on chronic low back pain.
Your Initial visit will last approximately 2 hours.
I will take a detailed health history, perform a physical exam, and provide you with your unique treatment plan.
During your first exam, I will spend time getting to know you and your health concerns.
You may be asked a wide range of questions about your symptoms, eating, exercise, sleep habits, emotional states and anything that may offer insight into your health.
I will also employ diagnostic tools that are unique to acupuncture such as tongue and pulse diagnosis.
Gathering this information enables the practitioner to effectively diagnose and detect any specific imbalances of Qi that may have contributed to a persons health problems.
The practitioner can then create a well-structured treatment plan.
Once the imbalances of Qi are detected, an acupuncturist will place fine, sterile needles at specific acupoints along meridian pathways.
This safe and painless insertion of the needles can unblock the obstruction and balance Qi where it has become unbalanced.
