Services
If you are an athlete or participate in sports regularly, your body will be in extreme demand. Peak performance is equal parts mental and physical strength – and to keep both in check, you need to respect your body and its limitations.

Sports therapy can help to prevent common sports injuries, muscle tightness, and even debilitating conditions.

Sports therapy is more than simply treatment for common injuries, strains and pain points. Treatments such as cupping, soft tissue mobilization and acupuncture can target muscle groups likely to experience considerable stress during intensive activity.

We provide certified, qualified care across a broad range of sports treatments. We are specialists in acupuncture, the Graston Technique, as well as soft tissue massage and mild bone-setting.
No matter what you do, physical pain can create barriers that may seem impossible to overcome. Our joints and muscles are extremely sensitive. When we overwork them or fail to care for them properly, they become inhibited and dysfunctional. That, in turn, can lead to long-term, chronic pain, and distress, which is not only uncomfortable but can be debilitating, too.

However, these are conditions you should never have to live with. It is healthy to reach out for support. Regardless of whether or not it is your first time booking acupuncture, cupping, or other therapies, we will ensure you receive the care and compassion you deserve.
For athletes, manual workers, and those suffering from chronic or acute pain, acupuncture has proven hugely beneficial. As a therapeutic practice, it is thousands of years old!

Acupuncture is the practice of finding motor points across your body, and stimulating said points with gentle contraction and relaxation.

Many people refer to acupuncture as a ‘muscular reset’. During the procedure, each body point targeted contracts, and then relaxes. In ancient medicine, this was believed to help release energy through open flows across the body.
Dry needling is a fantastic solution to a wide variety of muscular aches, strains, and tension problems. Much in the same vein as acupuncture, it involves gently puncturing the skin at specific points with specialist needles.

However, the difference revolves around the areas that dry needles target. While acupuncture focuses on stimulating the nervous system, dry needling helps to release tension.

Many people opt for dry needling when they wish to become more supple, or more flexible. Dry needle therapy is also a superb solution for helping to release tight, painful knots across the body.
The aim of electrostimulation therapy is to ascertain pain points across the body and to help remedy dysfunction in the nervous system. Much in the same vein as acupuncture, the process requires needles to gently enter the skin at said points, discovered during an initial consultation.

Needles are inserted at motor points across the body. Through these points, energy flows are created to allow for soft, gentle contraction and relaxation. This particular type of stimulation uses electrical current – to help boost the level of stimulus in play.

When consulting with me, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the differences between standard acupuncture and electrostimulation. As a licensed, experienced acupuncturist, I will only ever be too happy to help you find a solution that helps you reach your personal goals.
Cupping, much like acupuncture, is a type of therapy that borrows from ancient medicine. It is the practice of attaching cups around the body to create small vacuum pockets. Inside these pockets, suction pulls portions of skin up, and therefore directs additional blood to said areas.

The practice of cupping is widely used to treat knee pain, back pain, shoulder and neck pain. Essentially, the procedure redirects blood towards an affected area so that it can heal quicker than usually anticipated. In some cases, cupping can even be used to help treat headaches and some gastrointestinal concerns.
IASTM is often prescribed in situations where patients may suffer from musculoskeletal conditions, or who may be recovering from injury. As the name of this therapy suggests, it revolves largely around the use of different instruments. These can help massage or deliver slight pressure to various areas of the body.

It can help to rearrange soft tissue, also working to help break scar tissue that may accrue through certain injuries. The goal is to help injuries heal quicker and safer – and to ensure patients can get back to the activities they enjoy as soon as possible.

Graston treatments are ideal in helping active people – athletes or manual workers, for example – heal from injuries and conditions that may otherwise require extensive recovery. In many cases, Graston therapy can also help to reduce inflammation, thus negating the need for some pain medication.

Moses was recommended to me by a friend for my back pain that I’ve had since being in the Military and now an Emergency room nurse. I made the decision to try acupuncture about 2 months ago. I can honestly say it has been the best decision I’ve made. After the initial appointment I was 60% decreased in pain. After my second appointment even more. I have been able to move so much better and have next to no pain. When going to appointments Moses makes it a point to hit any tension spots or trouble areas and relieve the pain. 10/10 recommend trying acupuncture.

I just starting seeing Mr. Alvarez, but I am already seriously impressed. He listened to my concerns carefully and was very thorough in his explanation of everything he was seeing and wanted to try. I am definitely going back and expect great things.
