Dr. Sophia Pan founded the Eastern Medicine & Acupuncture Center as a place to receive dedicated and comprehensive health care from the holistic and natural practices of traditional Chinese medicine. The Center is located in Walnut Creek, in the East of the San Francisco Bay Area. Sophia opened the Center after more than 10 years of practice in Taiwan as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and 4 years of practice as a Licensed Acupuncturist in California.
After earning her medical degree from China Medical University, Dr. Pan practiced medicine at the Taiwan City Hospital and the Wan Fang Hospital for several years before practicing in private clinics. In parallel to helping patients at the Eastern Medicine & Acupuncture Center, Dr. Pan taught theoretical and clinical classes in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University in San Jose, California.
At the University Clinic, she oversaw treatments for a wide variety of conditions across the many patients who come to the clinic for health care.

Chinese herbal medicine is an essential part of traditional Chinese medicine.
Used in China for many centuries, it is one of the most effective treatments for some acute and chronic conditions.
Unlike synthetic Western pharmaceutical prescriptions, Chinese herbal formulas are made from organic substances and rarely elicit side effects.
They have been proven safe during thousands of years of use.
Herbal formulas are designed to strengthen and support the body, regulate the function of internal organs, or clear the body of excess conditions such as when you are having a cold or experiencing fever or pain.
