New Life Clinic is a Traditional Chinese Medicine center established in 1995 by Dr. Baoping Li and Dr. Hong Yang, and has been responsible for providing outstanding comprehensive health care for our patients ever since. Our specialty is Traditional Chinese Medicine. Our patients particularly value the individualized treatments and attention to detail we provide for their healthcare problems.

Our clinic is located at 1736 Picasso Ave. At New Life Clinic, we believe in using Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Chinese philosophy of health to prevent and treat diseases to give our patients the best quality care. According to the American Sleep Association (ASA), approximately 50-70 million Americans suffer from some type of sleep disorder.

The ASA reports that insomnia is the most common specific sleep disorder, with short term issues reported by about 30% of adults and chronic insomnia by 10%. Acupuncture is one of three branches of ancient traditional medicine. The other two are herbal medicine and the practice of a physical and mental discipline called Qi Gong.
Services
Dr. Li is educated in both Western and traditional Chinese medicine and holds MD and OMD (Oriental Medical Doctor) degrees from China.
He practiced internal medicine as a physician in China, where he also provided relief and humanitarian work for marginalized coal-mine populations in rural China.
In Beijing, Dr. Li began training in Traditional Chinese Medicine and obtained his OMD (Oriental Medical Doctor).
He conducted clinical trials on Traditional Chinese Medicine, making major breakthroughs in meridian theory.
According to Chinese medical theory, the symptoms and signs that indicate a Western diagnosis of allergies relate to imbalances in the meridian and Organ Systems of the body.
These imbalances may stem from a variety of causes, including stress, poor diet, constitutional weakness, pollutants and environmental toxins.
Over time, if imbalances remain within the body, they will affect the functions of the Organ Systems.
Some of these Organ Systems are involved in the production of Wei Qi (pronounced "way chee").
Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have used this noninvasive treatment method to help millions of people become well and stay well.
Acupuncture promotes natural healing.
It can enhance recuperative power and immunity, support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well-being.
It is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems.
At the core of this ancient medicine is the philosophy that Qi (pronounced "chee"), or vital energy, flows throughout the body.
Acupuncture has been employed as a health care modality for over 5,000 years.
Modern science has begun to understand the secrets of this ancient medicine with the support of new studies conducted by leading scientists, hospitals and medical research facilities from all over the world.
Today, acupuncture is receiving wide acceptance as a respected, valid and effective form of health care.
In a systematic review published by Spine Journal, acupuncture has been shown to have significantly favorable effects on chronic low back pain.
Gathering this information enables the practitioner to effectively diagnose and detect any specific imbalances of Qi that may have contributed to a persons health problems.
The practitioner can then create a well-structured treatment plan.
Once the imbalances of Qi are detected, an acupuncturist will place fine, sterile needles at specific acupoints along meridian pathways.
This safe and painless insertion of the needles can unblock the obstruction and balance Qi where it has become unbalanced.
