In 2002, I was featured on FOX31, for my work with pediatrics (no needles).
I have taught seminars in both Advanced Auricular (ear) acupuncture and Pediatric acupuncture.
I have supervised student clinics at CSTCM (Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine) and lectured on Acupuncture and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

As defined by the National Institute of Mental Health, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is an anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened.
Current estimates from the National Institute of Mental Health are that PTSD affects about 7/7 million American adults, but it can occur at any age, including childhood.
PTSD was first brought about to public attention in relation to the exposure experienced by war veterans, but it can result from a variety of traumatic events.
Probably the best known use for acupuncture in the US has been for pain.
It is the easiest to see the results and for that reason many chiropractors and MD's have jumped on the bandwagon, taking courses to learn what they can about acupuncture and provide this service.
This is why I always say, no matter who you chose for acupuncture, PLEASE make sure they have gone to an accredited school for training.
This would recquire the 3-5 years of training that we all receive, rather than a simple 180 hours course.
Shonishin is a Japanese acupuncture system used for children originated several hundred years ago in the Kansai area (Southwest Japan).
This system is applicable to infants from as young as one month to 10 years old.
Or until they are comfortable to use needles.
The instruments used, as well as the diagnostic techniques and examination are noninvasive.
Shonishin is also a practical and cost effective modality of health maintenance for children.
