Services
Cherie was a Certified Pharmacy Technician with CVS for 4 years before and during her matriculation in medical school.
From a medical condition (PCOS) that was diagnosed in her teen years, she saw that the combination of Natural Medicine and Acupuncture helped resolve her cysts on her ovaries.
She knew that these "Alternative" were working because there were no cysts that showed up on the ultrasound.
While in medical school she wrote and published an educational cookbook, Healthy Never Tasted So Good.

Acupuncture is a treatment with roots in traditional Chinese medicine.
During an acupuncture treatment, we will identify places where Qi, or the flow of energy, is blocked in the body.
We will then identify the corresponding acupressure points and place small needles there.
The needles stimulate the Qi, provoking a response from the body.
Forms of acupuncture have been a part of traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years, although acupuncture, as we know it today, began in approximately the 14th century.

Cupping therapy is a popular form of physical therapy that has a number of health benefits.
During a cupping therapy session, your practitioner will place special cups on your body to create suction.
The cups are typically made from glass, bamboo, or silicone.
They will heat the cup using herbs, alcohol, or another substance, and then as the cup cools down, it creates suction.
That suction increases your circulation, and can also stimulate the body to create new connective tissues and repair cell damage.

Gua sha is a natural therapy and beauty treatment that is part of traditional Chinese medicine.
It is an excellent way to relieve chronic pain, and it is often used as a skincare treatment as well.
During a gua sha treatment, we use massage tools to scrape the skin and stimulate blood flow in the soft tissues.
These tools have smooth edges, and the treatment uses both short and long strokes to break up tension and inflammation in these tissues.
Larger massage tools are used on the body, while the tools used for the face are much smaller and gentler.

Moxibustion is a form of Chinese therapy that uses heat to stimulate the flow of Qi in the body.
During a moxibustion session, we burn a compressed stick of dried plant matter close to the skin to generate heat.
The plant materials are called moxa, and they do not touch the skin.
Moxa is usually made with dried mugwort, although it can be made using other plants as well.
We will determine where to hold the moxa based on acupuncture points where the flow of Qi may be blocked.
The moxa is held an inch or two over each point until the skin is red and warm.
