Get to know the Acupuncture Center of NJ, staff.
Acupuncture is the use of very fine sterile needles inserted at specific points of the body so as to rebalance the internal environment, re-establish homeostasis, and thus treat disease.
In 1986, upon returning to the U.S. after living and studying in China, Peter Kadar founded the Acupuncture Center of New Jersey (ACNJ) as a solo practice in a small office on Elm Street in Morristown.
It was one of the first acupuncture offices in New Jersey.
ACNJ has grown considerably since that time, moving to our present location in 1994 and expanding to a staff of five experienced acupuncturists who represent the wide range of training, styles and techiniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The Acupuncture Center of NJ offers professional medical treatment using acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, back pain, chronic pain, and other therapies of Chinese traditional medicine.
As the oldest continuous medical art on planet Earth, Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine have become a very powerful, flexible and holistic healing system that is exquisitely tuned to every person's unique energetic, physical, mental and emotional experience.
Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Eastern dietetic therapy, massage such as shiatsu and tuina, and the emotional and psycho-spiritual wisdom of the Five Elements have been used for thousands of years to bring relief from pain and suffering and to promote optimal wellness and life-long support through the journey of life.
At Acupuncture Center of NJ we offer acupuncture treatment for back pain and injuries, Headache and Migraines, fertility, Chronic fatigue.
There is vital life energy that courses through our body.
The ancient Chinese called it "Qi" (pronounced "chee").
Qi can be stimulated on the surface of the body by dozens of channels or meridians that connect hundreds of acupuncture points.
These points have specific and powerful effects on the organs and glands, the nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems, the bones, joints, muscles and ligaments, the skin, immune and digestive systems and the emotions and cognitive functions.
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are very effective for treating all painful conditions and many other common disorders and complaints.
The use of Chinese and Western herbs are an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
These formulas and combinations have been used for hundreds of years with proven effectiveness and safety.
They may be taken as teas or decoctions, tablets, capsules, liquid extracts or topical liniments.
Our practitioners are trained, board certified herbalists who are trained to choose formulas that are specific to each patient's individual unique constitution.
Acupuncture can treat a variety of muscle related issues with cupping techniques, scraping (gua sha) on the body to bring blood flow to areas.
Cupping is an ancient Chinese Medicine practice that is widely used for the treatment of muscle and joint pain, injuries, stiffness and tension.
It is also effective for relieving colds and fever, headaches, and can release emotional tension.
Cupping has recently become popular due to the publicity it received at the 2016 Rio Olympics when prominent athletes like the swimmer Michael Phelps was seen with bright red circles on his back and shoulders as he was winning more gold medals.
