Blue Heron Acupuncture is a general family practice providing high quality, individualized healthcare for a wide variety of health conditions. I utilize acupuncture, Chinese herbs and nutritional counseling to promote health and wellness for patients of every age throughout all stages of life. Many people initially come to see me because they are experiencing distress or discomfort and are seeking immediate relief.

While acupuncture is a very powerful tool for alleviating the symptoms of pain and illness, there is so much more that this medicine can do. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete system of health care widely used in many places throughout the world. TCM treats a large variety of acute and chronic conditions as well as helping with health maintenance and disease prevention.

In fact, the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) both endorse acupuncture as an effective treatment for many common health problems. I strongly believe that acupuncture and herbs should be an integral part of any individual's plan for wellness because TCM not only addresses the symptoms of illness, but also the root imbalances that can cause disease in the first place.

Traditional acupuncture theory is based on the concept that electromagnetic energy (also known as Qi) flows through specific channels in the body, nourishing the tissues and organs and providing the physiologic energy required to maintain life.
This energy can be disrupted by such things as poor nutrition, exposure to chemicals, physical or emotional trauma, genetic predisposition, overwork and injury.
