Connecticut Family Acupuncture
Are you trying to avoid medication, surgery or other invasive procedures? Are you ready to take control of your health naturally? If you're looking for the best acupuncture care around, we think you've come to the right place. Stay home at the slightest sign of illness. There will be no late-cancellation fees assessed during the pandemic for appointments missed due to suspected illness.

Each patient has a clean, sanitized table linen provided by our medical linen service. Treatment rooms will be rotated to allow proper cleaning and to avoid patients occupying the same room in back-to-back treatments. Non-essential visitors and employees are not permitted in the office during appointment times. Acupuncture is now an integral part of mainstream healthcare, including a go-to treatment option for many referring physicians.

If you've been considering acupuncture for some time, you're not alone. Many of our patients have exhausted multiple other healthcare options before trying us. Time and again, we hear from them that they wish they tried us first.

Acupuncture induces a strong anti-inflammatory response in the body and increases blood flow to compromised tissues, muscles, joints, and organs.
Studies show that the body also releases endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine in response to acupuncture.
This accounts for the relaxation and stress-relieving effects of the treatments.
In essence, acupuncture stimulates the body to heal itself.
Our acupuncturists have some of the most extensive training of any you'll find in the state.
In Connecticut, acupuncture can be legally performed by a number of different health care providers.
Herbal medicine is often an important part of an effective treatment plan.
When many people think of herbal medicine, they think of taking a single herb for a specific health problem (e.g., Saint John's Wort for depression or Turmeric for inflammation).
However, Chinese herbology is quite a bit different.
In Chinese herbal medicine, herbs are generally prescribed in a formula which can be a combination of up to 20 different substances.
These herbs work in unison to address the specific needs of each individual patient.
Ever since Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps was spotted (no pun intended) at the 2016 Rio Olympics with cupping marks all over his back and shoulders, there has been a great deal of interest in this therapeutic procedure.
Cupping therapy is another highly effective technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine that is sometimes included in a treatment plan.
With cupping therapy, a vacuum is created inside a glass ball or "cup" and the cup is then applied to the skin.
This increases local blood circulation tremendously and stimulates the body's healing response.
