Third Coast Acupuncture offers traditional Chinese medicine therapies including acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion along with orthopedic/Western sports medicine acupuncture. OM, is a nationally board certified and Illinois state licensed acupuncturist. She received her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, which included 3,500 credit hours in Eastern medicine, Western bioscience, and clinical practice.

In the student clinic, Amanda accumulated over 900 hours of clinical experience. Prior to becoming a licensed acupuncturist, Amanda graduated from DePaul University with a BA and worked as a designer for 12 years at various non-profit institutions throughout Chicago. After years of positive personal experiences with acupuncture, a desire to work in healthcare one-on-one with others in a meaningful and impactful way led to a change in career paths.

No, acupuncture does not hurt.
For some people, needle insertion may feel like a tiny pinch while others may feel nothing at all.
Unlike hypodermic needles such as those used for drawing blood or administering medications, acupuncture needles are as thin as a human hair.
All needles are one time use, in sterile packaging opened at the start of your treatment, and disposed of immediately after in a sharps container for incineration.
We recommend a series of treatments, checking in on your body's response and re-evaluating along the way.
