Acupuncture is a component of traditional Chinese medicine that originated in China over 5,000 years ago. It is based on the belief that living beings have a vital energy, called "qi", that circulates through twelve invisible energy lines known as meridians on the body. We now know that "qi" was a mistranslation and Chinese Medicine focuses on the air we breathe into the blood stream and its travel throughout the body.
Blood circulation and the nervous system are the focus of Chinese Medicine. The Yin and Yang symbol is the same as balance or Homeostasis in Western Medicine. Chinese Medicine uses Acupuncture needles to communicate with the electrical system of the body to give direction to the natural healing mechanisms we all have and getting as close to homeostasis as we can.
Resets the sympathetic nervous system, assisting the reduction of cortisol (stress hormone). I am in the process of creating a non-profit for both Retired Veterans as well as those still in service. I want Acupuncture and complementary services available to all Veterans.
