Acupuncture Tradition
Acupuncture Tradition follows strict safety protocols to keep our healing space safe, comfortable, and tranquil. Acupuncture is among the oldest healing practices in the world. As part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is based on the concept that disease results from disruption in the flow of Qi (life force energy) and imbalance in the forces of yin and yang.
Services
Traditional Chinese medicine should not be considered an "Alternative" medicine.
For millions of healthy people, it is a part of their daily awareness and a lifestyle that prevents illness.
Traditional Chinese medicine uses a holistic system of health care which includes acupuncture, acupressure, medical massage, cupping (a method of using heat or vacuum to draw the skin and tissue up into a cup which stimulates the blood flow), moxibustion (a heat treatment using the Chinese herb Artemesia vulgaris), and herbal medicine to restore health and balance to your body, mind and soul.
We are blessed to have a medical practitioner in our community who possesses not only many years of excellent training and experience, but also generations of knowledge passed down through her immediate family of Chinese Acupuncturists.
As a result of that influence, Jennifer Hoang has the ability to intrinsically understand the flow of energy to release, heal, and regenerate the human body.
Her diagnostic abilities and her knowledge of Chinese herbs for the continuing treatment of ailments are to be commended.
Your initial visit will be about one to one and one half hours which involves a detail interview and evaluation as well as a treatment.
Follow-up visits will take approximately 1 hour.
The fee for your initial visit starts at $120 and up.
Follow-up visits starts at $75 and up.
Certain discounts may apply for seniors over 65 y.o., college students, veterans, family discounts, etc.
Treatments are performed on a massage table.
At the beginning of the session, Jennifer will first interview then examine you.
Your first appointment includes the consultation and the first treatment.
It usually takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Jennifer will have a detailed interview with you, discuss medical history, lifestyle, health concerns, and goals you would like to achieve through acupuncture.
Jennifer and the patient will then come up with a practical treatment plan.
During the visits, depending on each individual's needs, supplements and dietary recommendation may be discussed.
There is a misconception that an acupuncture needle inserted into your skin would hurt as much or similar to a sewing needle or pin prick.
The first visit gives us, my patient and I, a good opportunity to learn about each other.
My patient gets the opportunity to share his/her current health concerns/goals, past medical history, diet, exercise, and lifestyle in detail so that I can get a good picture or holistic summary of his/her energy pattern.
I introduce the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), my treatment approach, and how I work with my patients.
I would proceed with the TCM assessment which often involves taking the pulse, looking at the tongue, and doing a physical examination.
