Currently my practice is open with limited hours. To insure our safety, I will be wearing an N95 mask, sterilizing the treatment rooms, spacing patient visits further apart, using an air purifier and antiviral essential oil room spray. I am dedicated to offering my community effective, natural, and safe medical care. Knowing that one's state of health is a diverse as the person, I approach my patients individually.

By gaining a comprehensive understanding of your health needs together we will effectively travel the road to your optimum health. I listen and spend time with my patients while being thorough and getting results. I am committed to giving the highest level of care, helping you achieve your health goals while preventing future health problems. The bottom line of my work is to improve your health far beyond the immediate results of stepping off my table.

My goal is your overall well being: today, tomorrow, and years from now. We will take the steps together to achieve your desired results, cultivating a balance of the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
Services
Karen Adams, Acupuncturist and Herbalist, is an experienced and highly trained healthcare practitioner.
She became licensed to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2001.
She received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and received her Master's Degree in Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese (ACTCM) in San Francisco.
While completing the rigorous curriculum and four-year clinical training program at ACTCM, Karen also participated in a two year internship in the private practice of her mentor who specializes in fertility and breast cancer.
Though people often become devoted to Chinese medicine because they see dramatic improvement in their symptoms, the practitioner is always seeking to discover what underlying disharmony is causing the symptoms and to treat the "root cause" to prevent recurrences.
By treating the subtle imbalances in the body with acupuncture and herbs, we address problems before disease or pain conditions have a chance to manifest.
When QI (life energy) flows smoothly and yin and yang energies of the body are balanced you are less likely to get an illness and able to quickly recover.
It might not seem that having needles stuck in you would be a relaxing and rewarding experience, but, in my case, it has often worked wonders.
I am, of course, speaking of acupuncture.
That being said, I love Karen Adams, who practices here.
She is really efficient and very good at what she does.
She came highly recommended to me by a friend of mine.
I saw her for a shoulder injury, which will unfortunately require surgery, but she worked wonders with the pain.
And the best part?
The reactions from others when you walk out with the gigantic bruises all over your back from the cupping.
Most patients do not feel much on insertion of the needle, maybe a slight pressure and some ask, "If the needle is in already."
The reason acupuncture needles don't hurt is because they are extremely thin compared to a hypodermic needle which is used for injections or drawing blood.
To give you an idea, you can fit about 40 acupuncture needles into the tip of one standard hypodermic needle.
There are certain sensations associated with the therapeutic effects of acupuncture, which are known as De Qi, the big energy.
