What is acupuncture and Oriental Medicine?
Acupuncture is one part of a variety of treatment modalities that encompass Oriental Medicine or Traditional Chinese Medicine.
This system of medicine evaluates the entire person to include one's experiences in life, which can profoundly effect the body; thus creating a holistic medicine that gets to the root of the problem, and is not focused merely on symptom management.
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine, sterile, single- use needles into specific locations throughout the body, called acupoints or neuro-vascular nodes.

What happens during a treatment?
Initially, a complete Health History and Physical Exam is accomplished in order to get a detailed understanding of your overall body condition to include body, mind and emotions.
Many questions are asked about health, symptoms and lifestyle.
This understanding, allows the Practitioner to effectively diagnose and detect any conditions in the body that may have contributed to a person's health problems.
A treatment plan is then discussed and implemented.
Occasionally, some insurance companies require that the History and Exam occur on a different date than the first treatment.
