Origins Acupuncture & Wellness was established in 2012. Our mission is to raise health and vitality of the whole family by raising accessibility to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments and foster awareness on the great value TCM holds for all patients, pediatric to geriatric. Our intention is to help each patient achieve his or her wellness goals.

It encompasses a variety of modalities which are used to balance the mind, body, and spirit. A fundamental principle in TCM is that our body has an energetic network flowing through it which is made up of 12 different acupuncture meridians (or channels). Disruption of this energy, known as Qi, happens through lifestyle, diet, stress, & trauma and leads to imbalances in the energetic system of the whole body resulting in physical, mental, and emotional complaints.

Melissa is a licensed Acupuncturist in Wisconsin and certified by the National Certification Committee of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Melissa started her education in Chinese Medicine in Portland, Oregon at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.
With a strong family background and a pull to be back in the Midwest, Melissa moved back to be near her family and transferred to Minnesota.
Melissa received her Masters of Oriental Medicine degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2011.

Each patient's treatment plan is covered in greater depth during the new patient consultation.
The first visit includes a new patient consultation and treatment and will take roughly 90 minutes.
During the consultation, we will ask many questions, some of which may not seem related to the chief complaint.

To find us enter in under the green awning on Oak Street and go up the elevator to the second floor, take a left, we are all the way on the end, Suite 8. Sometimes parking is limited due to downtown events, but there are public parking lots on the corner of 4th & Ash Street and another on the corner of 5th & Oak Street.
