Services
Acupuncture uses hair-thin, flexible needles, inserted into specific points on the body to activate the body's own healing powers.
Oriental medicine employs a variety of healing modalities beyond acupuncture, such as moxibustion, tui na and cupping.
Chinese medical dietary therapy involves understanding the properties of foods and how they affect our health as well the use of food for preventing and treating illnesses.
Several thousand years ago, East Asian physicians discovered that the body forms disharmonies as a result of the various physical and mental stresses of life.
Oriental medical theory explains these disharmonies as an imbalance of opposing forces called yin and yang.
This imbalance disrupts the movement of the body's vital energy (qi) along the meridian pathways, which are channels through which the body's energy is thought to flow.
Acupuncture restores the smooth flow of qi.
By inserting and manipulating needles at specific points on the body, acupuncture can return the body to its natural balance and promote the body's ability to heal itself.
The Chinese widely believe that we are what we eat, and most dietary guidelines follow nature's lead.
According to Chinese Medical theory, eating with the seasons and following an energetically balanced meal plan allows us to remain in harmony with the environment, adapt better to changes in season and stay healthy.
Chinese dietary therapy has been in practice for nearly a millennia in China and this tenet of Chinese medicine includes not just what you eat but how it was prepared, when and how you eat your meals as well as how these foods interract with each other over the course of the day.
