Acupuncture is holistic and looks at all aspects of a person and all body systems and how one system or function affects the other. Are you ready to take back control of your health, and live a life of balance and vitality?. I assume you are here because you're feeling discouraged, stressed, and stuck in your life. Chronic pain and or a chronic health issue has reached a point where it feels like it's taking over your life and holding you back.
Whether it's from long term stress, a bad injury, repetitive strain, food choices, or hormonal issues, something in your life got you and your health off track. Stress and anxiety are at an all time high, and some days it feels like your health is spiraling downward. Life is always throwing us curve balls, but sometimes it throws us one too many and it can feel pretty overwhelming.
A breath or a break is needed, but so many of us feel we don't have the time or space and barrel ahead until our bodies start to nudge us with symptoms such as pain, migraines, poor sleep, anxiety, or hormonal imbalances.

Services
Heidi Botnick O'Hare has helped all of my family members over the last 5 years for different issues.
She is kind and caring and truly works to get at the root of each individual issue.
I would highly recommend her!
My struggles with insomnia and anxiety related to thyroid issues led me to Heidi.
Heidi is a very skilled acupuncturist - she took the time to really get to know me as a whole person.
She is very kind and thoughtful in the way she treats her patients and made necessary adjustments at each session in order to achieve our goal.

It is based upon the idea that we have a system of meridians or flow of energy that runs throughout the body.
The Chinese call this energy qi (pronounced chee).
These meridians are also energetically connected to each of our main organ systems.
When this flow of energy is running smoothly, we have health and wellness.
But often times we develop blockages in this energy system from any number of physical, emotional, nutritional, or lifestyle stressors.
When these blockages occur, we experience symptoms such as pain, allergies, digestive complaints, anxiety, and depression to name a few.

Cupping is a technique that uses suction to relieve qi and blood stagnation.
A vacuum is created between a glass cup and the skin either through a pump or through heat.
This process brings blood and qi to the superficial layers of the skin and fascia, thereby promoting circulation and free flow.
Once the cups are removed patients will often find reddish circles where the cups were placed, which typically fades in a few days.

Over the past 5-7 years of my practice I have found that there is an increasing need and desire among many of my patients for nutritional guidance and lifestyle changes to achieve the health they want.
I've seen an increase in people suffering with food sensitivities, poor digestion, weight gain that just won't budge, candida and autoimmune conditions.
It can be overwhelming to know what steps to take to improve digestion and then how to maintain good gut health with proper nutrition.
Sometimes further testing is needed with a naturopath to determine if infections or food sensitivities are the root of the problem.

Chinese Herbal Medicine is a service that we offer in conjunction with acupuncture treatment or as a separate service.
Herbs can be a wonderful adjunct to acupuncture or as a stand alone therapy.
The type of herbal medicine I practice is Kampo, which comes out of the Japanese tradition.
The formulas I use are often smaller (less herbs), and reassessments often have to be made within 1-2 weeks of being on a formula.
The herbs I most often use come in either capsule or powder form, whichever is more suitable to the patient.
