Wood & Water Acupuncture & Natural Medicine
Hello, my name is Shanna Wood and Water as an element has been my best healer, which is why I founded Wood & Water. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory, the 5 elements are the basis of understanding the fundamentals of nature and how it moves within our body and spirit so that we may know what is our best medicine. If you have any more questions about my offerings, acupuncture, or anything health nerdy, feel free to drop me a line here.
Services
This treatment is grounded in the use of the Eight Extraordinary Vessels, 5 Element Theory, and Eastern Mysticism for the treatment of psycho-emotional (and stress-induced illness) and psycho-spiritual disorders.
Patients receive a spirit-focused Acupuncture Treatment that may include Acupressure, Medical Qi Gong, and Reiki.
This work does not take the place of standard mental health care, but compliments and supports it.
Recommended 1-2 Treatments per month, integration time is necessary.
While Traditional Acupuncture sessions in between are perfectly normal to support the work, this modalities are working on different layers of a being.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been practiced for over 5000 years, which makes it the oldest continuous medical system in recorded history.
With this highly sophisticated & artful system, herbal & dietary prescriptions are developed with a full health history and analysis of your constitution which includes looking at the tongue and taking the pulse.
After an extensive intake, a TCM diagnosis and treatment plan will be developed.
Some patent medicines may be in office for purchase, while custom formulations are provided through the highly reputable companies below that hold the highest standards of practice.
It is highly recommended that you have a snack or meal before, due to the fact that a treatment may lower your blood sugar.
It is also important not to be extremely tired, as the treatment will further relax you.
Please come prepared with a list of current medications with their dosages.
Please let the practitioner know if you are pregnant, may be pregnant, or have a pace maker so points can be chosen appropriately.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Tiny, thin acupuncture needles are nothing like the experience of a hypodermic needle.
