Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine have existed for over 3,500 years. It provides a complete system of medicine that is person centric as opposed to disease centric. In this way Classical Chinese medicine provides an individual the resources that allow their unique self to heal. Two people presenting with the same western named conditions often require very different resources for their bodies to return to harmony and wellness.
Harmony Acupuncture embraces these concepts taught as Classical Chinese medicine and makes them available to people living in Charlotte and the surrounding communities. Our services provide acupuncture, Chinese herbs, essential oils, qigong, and nutritional suggestions to support patients on their healing journey.

Acupuncture activates the blood, fluids, nerves and energy along the channels, which traverses the cover the entire body.
When these structures are activated the body's balance is restored thereby reducing INFLAMMATION, increasing CIRCULATION and alleviating PAIN.
Research shows stimulating effects on the central nervous system triggering the release of chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain.
These changes may alter our experience of pain via the release of pain killing chemicals such as endorphins and natural opioids, or speed up the healing process via the release of immune system cells.

What I value most about being treated by Amanda is the shear volume of thought that she puts into my over all health care and understanding.
I've been going to Harmony acupuncture for more than 3 months.
At first I was uncertain about the needles but it's much better than a shot in the doctors office.
The treatment has helped me relieve a lot of stress.
Amanda has a relaxed and accepting personality.
She is willing to research/pursue effective treatments for whatever ailment we discuss, unhurried, calm, and knowledgeable and dedicated.

According to Chinese medical theory, the symptoms and signs that indicate a Western diagnosis of allergies relate to imbalances in the meridian and Organ Systems of the body.
These imbalances may stem from a variety of causes, including stress, poor diet, constitutional weakness, pollutants and environmental toxins.
Over time, if imbalances remain within the body, they will affect the functions of the Organ Systems.
Some of these Organ Systems are involved in the production of Wei Qi (pronounced "way chee").
