Dr. Beth Stephenson
As an acupuncture physician and as a licensed massage therapist, Dr. Beth Stephenson has served Volusia County as a healing arts professional for over 20 years. Three days a week are dedicated to working at the Wellness Center with a western MD (rheumatologist) and physical therapist in a complementary style of practice. Natural health care (such as acupuncture, herbal medicine and massage therapy) honors and cultivates the patient's natural healing process.

The body is designed to heal itself, and every symptom is the body's way of telling you that it needs some sort of change in order to reestablish homeostasis or balance. Although each healing process is unique, it is important to remember that the body is actually designed to regenerate its tissues automatically. Dr. Beth is committed to helping your body begin to heal itself naturally.

Using acupuncture, massage, dietary recommendations and herbal remedies, Dr. Beth will prepare a one-of-a-kind treatment plan for your specific needs.

During each appointment, Dr. Stephenson will assess your progress and determine the most effective form of treatment to restore or maintain your health, meeting your immediate needs.
Acupuncture - The gentle insertion of tiny, sterile disposable needles into specific points on the body.
Stimulation of these acupuncture points will elicit the natural healing ability of your body's own nervous system.

With a proven history of over 6,000 years, Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine are the oldest and most commonly used medical practices in the world.
The goal of acupuncture is to stir your body's natural healing resources, so that you can begin healing from within.
Dr. Beth will share a few here.
For prescriptions tailored specifically for your needs, schedule an office visit at your convenience.
Fresh Aloe Vera juice can be ingested internally to help heal ulcers, constipation, and a whole host of digestive ailments.
Dong Quai (angelica root) and Chinese wild yam can be used as natural remedies for menopause symptoms.
Your body needs good nutrition in order to heal itself.
You can't expect to heal on a diet of drive-thru menu foods and microwaved instant meals.
Your bones, muscles, tendons, and skin are designed to repair themselves using building blocks derived from natural sources.
Take time to read the labels on your grocery items before you ingest them.
Take note of the preservatives and food additives.
If you don't understand it, your body probably won't be able to use it as a building block to regenerate new tissues.
Dr. Beth's massage therapy career has spanned over 20 years and her repertoire of medical massage therapy techniques includes both western and eastern styles of massage.
She has extensive training and experience in myofascial release therapy, and completed one hundred hours of training under John Barnes, RPT in the 1990's.
In myofascial release, the soft tissues of the body are mobilized by gently stretching and spreading the muscles and tendons to literally create a space for your body to heal and repair.
