Most states require a 4 year (three semesters a year) Masters degree in Oriental Medicine from an accredited acupuncture school and issue a written and practical state board exam, before an acupuncturist can become licensed.
Acupuncture can be effective in treating a variety of conditions.
The essential idea is that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can do everything.
There are many TCM specialties: sports injury, chronic illness and immune system disorders are among them.
In China, each hospital has Western and Traditional Eastern doctors working side by side treating all illnesses.
At Tranquility Health Center we greatly value the feedback of our patient's and each patient is treated as an individual, with treatment tailored to their unique needs.
If you would like to share your story please feel free to contact to us.

I am a patient of Jeanny Chan, and I live outside of Pittsburgh, PA.
I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, shoulders and now my knees.
I could not cut vegetables, roll meatballs, do garden work or knead bread before seeing Jeanny.
The focus of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is to maintain balance and prevent illness.
One of these concepts is Qi, which is considered a vital force of energy responsible for controlling the workings of the human mind and body.
Qi flows through the body via channels.
There are a total of 20 channels: 12 primary channels, which correspond to specific organs, organ system functions, and eight secondary channels.
Imbalances in the flow of Qi cause illness.
Correction of this flow restores the body to balance.
When meridians are out of balance, you can often have evidence on your face.
Individuals under stress tend to age quicker than average and acupuncture treatment can have a positive impact on the face as well as improving over all health.
Acupuncture Face Lifts involve the insertion of tiny needles into particular areas on the face, hands and the feet to stimulate the body's natural energies or "Qi".
Based on the principles of Oriental Medicine, " Where Qi goes, blood flows."
The needles stimulate blood circulation, which improves facial color.
Today, many top hospitals including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center utilize acupuncture for their patients in conjunction with chemotherapy and radiation.
Acupuncture in many cases is helpful in reducing postoperative chemotherapy symptoms such as chronic fatigue, nausea and vomiting.
Jeanny, who is both trained and experienced in dealing with the symptoms associated with cancer treatments, provides the utmost personal attention.
At Tranquility Health Center, patients will feel relaxed and very peaceful during treatment, in her private offices.
