Baltimore Acupuncture For Health
The Acupuncture Journey combines life coaching because lifestyle assessment and "tweaking" are always addressed. The biggest difference between eastern and western medicine is the empowerment for the patient. Acupuncture is the practice of stimulating the meridians of the body to effect our qi (or Energy). Traditionally, the meridians have been stimulated by using needles to insert through the acupuncture points on the skin.

An acupuncturist is trained to diagnose where the imbalances are in the body (mind and spirit), that are causing the symptoms. Encompasses several methods designed to help patients achieve and maintain health. Acujpuncture, TMC incorporates - acupressure and moxibustin; manipulative and massage techniques - tuina and gua sha; herbal medicine; diet and lifestyle changes; mediation; and exercise - gigong or tai chi.

The practitioner uses this technique to create a negative pressure inside the cup so that when applied to a patient's skin, a suction eect is the result.
Services
My career began as a Registered Nurse at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where I specialized in Med/Surgical nursing and later Psychiatric nursing when I received my Masters Degree in Nursing at the University of Maryland.
My graduate degree in Nursing was a natural first step into the holistic approach and philosophy of my graduate degree in Chinese Medicine.
I blend my vast nursing background into my acupuncture treatments as I treat a wide variety of physical and emotional/spiritual issues.
I believe that even if my acupuncture needles are 'magic bullets, ' the acupuncture and Chinese medicine process would be much less effective if my patient didn't have an adequate nutritional foundation.
Americans have a diet rich in calories and profoundly deficient in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, essential oils, etc.
Our diets are heavily influenced by the American lifestyle, which is rushed, overwhelmed, and processed.
We are inundated with technological input from computers, television, and even phones, putting all of this information into our minds, but we do little to nourish our bodies.
I do recommend nutritional supplementation.
My favorite nutritional support system can be further explored at the following website: Jill takes Juice Plus.
Juice Plus provides the nutritional essence of 17 different fruits, vegetables and grain in a convenient capsule form.
Juice Plus+ is whole food based nutrition, including juice powder concentrates from 30 different fruits, vegetables and grains.
Juice Plus+ helps bridge the gap between what you should eat and what you do eat every day.
Not a multivitamin, medicine, treatment or cure for any disease, Juice Plus+ is made from quality ingredients carefully monitored from farm to capsule to provide natural nutrients your body needs to be at its best.
Good health starts with good habits, like eating wholesome foods.
And with Tower Garden, you can easily grow your own fresh, nutrient-rich food virtually anywhere, yearround, without soil.
Tower Garden, a vertical, aeroponic growing system, allows you to grow up to 20 vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers in less than three square feet-indoors or out.
So it's the perfect companion in your journey toward healthy living.
Using aeroponics-the same technology NASA uses-Tower Garden grows plants with only water and nutrients rather than dirt.
My treatment of my patients is not exclusively focused on acupuncture, because Chinese Medicine is about the treatment of the "whole" person.
This is the basis of Holistic medicine.
Lifestyle coaching is also a large part of the journey back to wellness.
Lifestyle evaluation incorporates exercise, hydration, rest, relaxation, work life, family and relationship life, and more.
Nutrition is a major variable in our health and is also a major factor in the coaching and teaching I offer my patients.
