Boost Acupuncture
At Boost Acupuncture, our goal is to help you resolve your health issues, treat your pain, and get you back on your feet quickly so you can do the things you enjoy. Acupuncture is a part one of the oldest systems of medicine and it has been used for thousands of years. It uses very thin disposable needles inserted at specific anatomical points of low electrical resistance to direct nutrients chemical signals to various areas of the body.

The needle stimulation follows a channel (similar to a circuit) and seeks to bring balance, or homeostasis, to the body. From a Western perspective, acupuncture has been found to stimulate the hypothalamus, which helps regulate the hormones of the endocrine system. It also activates the parasympathetic nervous system, the part of the autonomic nervous system which is active at rest and which allows for some of the body's restorative processes such as digestion to kick in.

This partially explains why people often feel relaxed during a treatment. Acupuncture has also been shown to enhance immune function, decrease inflammation, and promote circulation.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, sterilized, single-use disposable needles into specific anatomical points that follow the Chinese meridian system.
Points are chosen based on individualized Asian Medical diagnosis.
One goal of treatment is to balance the meridians to activate the body's own natural healing process.
Acupuncture has been shown to balance the autonomic nervous system, release analgesic and anti-inflammatory chemicals in the body, increase circulation and reduce inflammation at an injured site, release muscle tension, and enhance the immune system.

Please don't hesitate to ask questions or to let me know if you don't understand the answer.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) looks at the body differently than Western Medicine, however, I will seek to provide explanations in terms we understand in the West combined with concepts relevant to TCM.
