Based upon your needs, Acupuncture points will be selected to assist your body in healing. My goal is to help relieve your pain and improve your sense of wellness. I primarily have an Orthopedic approach, targeting specific areas of pain, while utilizing my experience in Bodywork to relieve muscle tightness that often accompanies the issue. I have studied Sports Acupuncture (which some people consider similar to Physical Therapists' Dry Needling) and the Five Needle Protocol used for PTSD and Detox.
My primary training, however, was in Five Element Acupuncture, which has a more wholistic and constitutional approach to wellness and is exceptional at reaching underlying causes of imbalance on an Emotional and Physical Level. Whether it is with hands-on massage or simply in the selection of acupuncture points to relieve pain, Trigger Point Therapy is the foundation of most of my treatments.
I often relieve these Trigger Points or release the fascial restrictions in the area of pain before inserting any needles.
