We will evaluate the problem area in order to identify specific structures, including myofascial trigger points (contraction knots), which are frequently at the source of pain.
Dry trigger point needling is then performed in order to alleviate symptoms arising from the blockage or trigger point which, after its release, encourages good "flow" throughout the body.
Underlying energy "deficiencies" in the acupuncture meridians are also noted and treated in order to restore the body to energetic balance.

Acupuncture is an ancient treatment approach that is based on keeping the flow of the body's energy, called Qi, free and uninterrupted along energy paths called meridians.
When an energy path is blocked, disruptions occur.
Acupuncture restores the flow of energy and balance to the body so healing can occur.
Before the first treatment begins the acupuncturist obtains a detailed history and description of the presenting problem.
You will be asked specific questions-the answers to which will be used in developing the treatment plan specific to you and your needs.
